MOVING away from home for university is a rite of passage for many young people.
For almost 100 years, St Mark’s College has helped smooth the way, providing an environment where students can live, learn and thrive at university.
Established in 1925 as South Australia’s first university college, St Mark’s has supported generations of rural South Australians to receive a world-class education, giving out over $ 500,000 in scholarships, prizes, bursaries, and other financial assistance to its students each year.
“Moving to the city can seem daunting; however, college provides a safe environment with ample support available, ”one student from Renmark said.
“This provided me with great peace of mind as moving out from home was such a big step in my life.”
A third-year student from Port Pirie said St Mark’s had enabled her to thrive academically, in leadership, and above all, to grow so much as a person.
“St Mark’s places a strong emphasis on both academic excellence and student wellbeing,” a college spokesperson said.
“Students receive 24/7 onsite support from experienced staff and student leaders.
“Meanwhile, the academic support program, which includes access to 50-plus academic tutors, consistently helps students achieve high distinctions or distinctions in 50 per cent of subjects.
“Students also enjoy a wide range of cultural, sporting, social, and other activities, with an emphasis on community service.
“St Mark’s provides outstanding facilities in a stunning parkland location, within walking distance of the Adelaide CBD, the University of Adelaide, the University of South Australia, and the train to Flinders University.”
St Mark’s is currently accepting applications for Semester 2, 2022, and the 2023 academic year.
